The Redmen bounce back !!!
Freeland entertained OUP at the Simon Hole memorial ground. The pitch looking in fantastic condition after ground staff had been working tirelessly on the pitch for 48 hours on the run up to the game. Special thanks to Greg Wallace and Liam im a changed man Harris for this.
A very strong Freeland side took the game by the scruff of the neck in the opening exchanges, they were winning first and second ball all over the pitch to the delight of the Freeland faithful and management staff a like.
Surely we wouldn't have to wait to long for the breakthrough. Well we did actually and it was 25 min in before the deadlock was broken. A fantastic finish from Danny Taylor cutting in from the left flank and smashing the ball high into the the roof of the OUP net.
Nerves settled and the Red men were creating lots of chances. Unfortunately these chances came and went and the Reds went into the halftime interval only one goal to the good.
Patience was the key draw the opposition out and hopefully we can get some more space in the final third. After a first half of being camped in the OUP final third we felt that a team losing the game would have to try and get something from the game.
They didn't really take the invitation from the home side and after some good work from Freeland's Adopted son Tom Parker the Red-men did get there second goal.
This came in the form of colossus Stuart Hole he stayed forward after a corner and smashed a left foot drive underneath the advancing Oup goalkeeper low to his right.
The Red men should of scored more goals but on a pitch that was becoming increasing more difficult to play they were happy with just the two.
Another win another good day at the office.
