Another 5 Star Performance
Freeland Entertained Cropredy for the third time this season.
The last encounter in the Senior Cup was a tight affair and the home side knew that would have to be at their best to gain another valuable 3 points.
The last few weeks have been very encouraging and the home side didn’t disappoint in the early stage of this game either.
Is safe to say that they started like a house on fire again and found themselves in front courtesy of the inform Liam Harris
. His right footed shot from 16 yards going in off the underside of the crossbar.
The lead was doubled soon after when after a good ball in from the Liam s partner in crime Dean (I don t mind a tackle) Mays finished very well with his right foot from 12 yards.
The home side were in total control and the away side hadn’t troubled the very cold looking Adam Casper Lonsdale in the home sides goal.
Then another superb goal was scored for the reds when Debutant and returning to the club Chris Gilkes
scored a screamer with his right foot from outside the box.
A very good finish giving the poor cropredy keeper absolutely no chance what s so ever.
The game was won and only half hour had been played.
The reds started to sit back and the away side were starting to retain the ball better and were making inroads into the Freeland half on more regular occasions.
This however was short lived. As a great through ball found Danny Taylor
who lobbed the on rushing keeper from 20 Yards.
Halftime and the score was Freeland 4-0.
The second half started and the away side were looking to get an early goal so they could look at a potential comeback. They had been 3-0 down to Chalrgrove the week before and managed to win so they still fancied their chances.
In truth, the only real chance they had was defended brilliantly by the home side. Firstly, Chris Gilkes
headed the ball off the line and from the rebound Adam Bowerman
threw himself in front of the ball and it was cleared to safety.
The reds did manage to find the net in the second half and it was that man Tom McCudden
who got the goal with a smart left foot finish.
The game finished 5-0 to Freeland and it was another good day at the office. It should have been a lot more though shouldn’t it Tom McCudden
, Danny Taylor
, Liam Harris
, Dean Mays
, Craig Wood
Never mind a wins a win. Onto next week Oup away Huge Game, Must Win. See you there.
