5 Star Performance
Freeland travelled the short distance across the A40 to local rivals Eynsham in the always hotly contested West Oxfordshire Derby.
The away side in great form of late were going into the game on the back of some very good results and were confident that they could continue in the same vain against a lowly Eynsham side.
The reds started very well and were looking like they could score with their first few attacks.
Eynsham did manage to weather the storm for the first ten minutes but then succumb to a superb move and great finish by the excellent on the day Liam Harris
The tenacious midfielder finding a superb right footed finish from ten yards giving the goal keeper absolutely no chance.
The away side continued to dominate and they could have added a couple more goals before top scorer Danny Taylor
finished from close range.
Then just as half time was approaching the away sides third goal did come. A superb move down the left side from Craig Wood
supplying a pin point cross for Tom McCudden
to fire home on the volley from 15 yards.
The halftime score was three nil to the away side and they were after adding to that total in the second period.
The start of the second half started with both teams not really finding a decent rhythm and lots of the game was played the middle third of the pitch.
The only chance of note was Craig Wood
flying in back stick only to see he effort saved by the feet of the Eynsham keeper Tyler Walker.
The game then approached the final quarter and it was the reds that managed to raise their game even further.
Lovely linkup play on the end of the box finding Liam Harris
the midfielder doing superbly well to get the ball out of his feet to smash home again right footed.
The game was well and truly over. However, in the dying seconds substitute Lee Keyes found Jason Lonsdale
at the back post to fire home.
The game finished 0-5 and the away side went home very happy. Cropredy at home next week. Another huge game for the reds. One we are very much looking forward too.
I love Saturdays see you at the weekend.
