Freeland travelled to the unbeaten League leaders Bletchingdon, hoping to transfer their cup form into the league. With injuries and holidays Freeland were boosted by the strength of the John Terry esque Simon Hole.
Bletchingdon were a solid unit and were confident with the ball, playing some good football and using the two front target men well.
For all their early possession the home side could not create any chances, with Skipper Woodbridge and Hole dealing with the threat easily. In the middle of the park Langford and International Playboy Blackwell, who was impressing his watching MILF, were starting to dominate and put their mark on the game.
Freeland were now starting to apply some pressure and the home side were happy to sit back and soak up the pressure and hit Freeland on the counter. Freeland had a couple of free kicks in good areas, with Welsh international Ben “Gabbler” Glastonbury holding the ball up and getting fouled every time, but could not make them count.
Half time came with neither keeper having to make a save.
The second half Freeland came out of the blocks quickly and found that when concentrating on beating the opposition rather than arguing amongst themselves they were going to pose the home side a real threat.
Danny Taylor had Freeland’s best chance when from 6 yards the keeper pulled off a great save when everyone in the ground thought it was in. The home side were now starting to get on each others backs, and Freeland piled on the pressure.
They eventually scored when Perennial Pest Danny Taylor bundled the ball home from 5 yards after a goal mouth scramble.
The home side then started to throw people forward and almost immediately equalised, but Freeland’s Andy Murray look a like, Leach pulled off a great save, tipping the ball round the post.
The away side were happy to soak up the pressure, with Calley and Blackwell now Joined by the returning Mason in the middle of the park, controlling the game. Pint sized pest Taylor then had two more opportunities to put Freeland ahead and the visitors wasted free kicks from great positions.
With ten minutes on the clock Freeland sealed the 3 points, when a Wick corner was cleared it only fell to Mason 20 yards out, and his volley went through a crowd of players and found the bottom corner.
The final minutes Freeland held up the balls and ensured Bletch had no chance of scoring, and this saw them get a fully deserved 3 points, and were the first team to beat and not concede to the League Leaders.
