CHAMPIONS??p>
BCS Bardwell Res 2 - 3 Freeland Res??p>
Freeland Reserves claimed the Division Three title on the final day of their season after seeing off BCS Bardwell Reserves in their quaint ground in Bicester. Nathan Langford and Little Benny Symonds men bravely battled there way back into the game after a disastrous start, which saw them a goal down within the first five minutes. Freelands off side trap failed and Bardwells striker lofted the ball over Perkins head and into the roof of the net. Sam Symonds was poor.??p>
"CHAMPIONS!"
Freeland though had not made it this far to throw away the league now, and they rallied and pressed Bardwell looking for the equaliser. It did not look like it was coming though, as Paul I Score Goals Salter was not looking like scoring goals. Firstly he wildly blasted over after he had done all the hard work after a scintillating run, and he then hit the post from a yard out with the goal at his mercy. Tom Mason, who was an inspiration throughout then fired over, and with Freelands offside trap looking ropey at best Bardwell always looked capable of snatching a second. Sam Symonds was rubbish.??p>
"CHAMPIONS!"
Finally Freeland got the equaliser they deserved, after another Salter miss left Ben Glastonbury with the simplest of finishes to send the visiting fans wild. It was no more than Biscuit deserved for an all action display from the front man. With the nerves less jangly and with Mason and Lambert pulling the strings Freeland looked for another, and it soon came. Unsurprisingly Mason had a hand in it, receiving a short corner and whipping in a cross which was thumped into the top corner off the head of Simon Calley. Calley was later to go AWOL after a Timberland incident. Sam Symonds was woeful.??p>
"CHAMPIONS!"
Freeland were starting to look more like themselves now, and pushed on in the second half. They sealed the win with a wonderful goal, a great team move, culminating in Salter dancing through the Bardwell defence to set up Glastonbury, who volleyed the ball home with brute force into the top corner. Ben Symonds was on his knees, not in a sexual way, as he charged on the pitch, veins bulging, chest puffed out with pride. His brother Sam on the other hand, was dreadful.??p>
"CHAMPIONS!"
With minutes left Freeland brought on chairman and icon Darren Paton, and the big man flexed his muscles up top, he did not however, get his lob out as promised to the Freeland faithful. Bardwell pulled a goal back with seconds remaining on the clock, but it was to be Freelands day and the final whistle was drowned out by the jubilant Freeland players and fans. Sam Symonds was awful.??p>
"CHAMPIONS!"
As Salter popped the champagne corks all that is left to be said from all here at The Daily Dog is congratulations to Nathan, Ben and every single player, all forty odd of them, who played this season to earn Freeland Reserves the title in their virgin season in the Senior League. Congratulations lads, apart from Sam, he was terrible. ??p>
