RESSIES BACK TO WINNING WAYS??p>
Adderbury Res 1 - 2 Freeland Res??p>
Freeland traveled to Adderbury hoping to get back to wining ways after last weeks disappointing defeat. Freeland were boosted with the weird Jamie Perkin in goal and Crocker and Harriott on the bench.??p>
On a pitch that was heavy and full of divots, neither team played flowing football. Freeland had the better of the chances, Salter and Belcher both having good chances and Calley headed over when unmarked from a free kick. Adderbury matched Freeland all over the park, and they were dominating in midfield, putting in challenges and wining most second balls but could not produce the same dominance in the final third.??p>
Adderbury were reduced to shots from range and set pieces, which keeper Perkin dealt with comfortably. With a slow back line Freeland looked to exploit this by using the pace of front man Salty Dog. After half an hour Freeland were forced into a change when striker, and team sick note, Ben Glastonbury suffered concussion from a nasty clash of heads, which required the big Welsh target man to be taken to hospital in an ambulance.??p>
Freeland went one up when striker Salter netted his fifteenth goal of the season, after yet again he latched on to a long ball to outpace the defence and calmly slot home. Freeland seemed to step off the gas after the goal and Adderbury controlled most things ion the centre of the park, but were often getting caught by Freelands well rehearsed offside trap.??p>
Early in the second half Adderbury took a deserved equaliser when after a free kick on the left found the Adderbury centre back with a free header and Hone tucked away from the resulting scramble. Sub Crocker nearly scored with his first touch when some good work from Tom The Magician Scroggs put him through on goal only for Crocker to shoot just wide.??p>
After an hour Freeland once again took the lead when set piece specialist Sadler hit a rocket of a free kick from thirty yards, which the keeper could only parry into the net. Freeland were unlucky not to have scored again when sub Harriott lobbed the keeper, only to see his shot clip the top of the bar, and Salty Dog again had the ball in the net, but was ruled out by the ref for a non existent offside flag.??p>
In the final minutes Adderbury pressed for an equaliser, but Freeland managed to keep them out thanks to some dogged defending. Adderbury were thrown a lifeline, when the ref gave a free kick twenty yards out, after deeming that Symonds well timed tackle was a foul. The resulting kick though was hit high over the bar and the points were all Freelands.??p>
All that was left was to push the ambulance which had got stuck in the mud and enjoy the excellent post match food. ??p>
