Freeland Res 5 - 2 Fritwell Res

STEP INTO CHRISTMAS WITH THREEEEEE (POINTS)

Freeland Res 5 - 2 Fritwell Res

Freeland went into the Christmas break with a victory that would ensure they would stay top of the league. On a pitch that resembled more of a bog it was never going to be pretty but Freeland did their best to knock the ball around. This led to them having the better of the chances but they could not capitalise on them.

It took a long throw from Simon Calley to break the deadlock, when the Fritwell defence failed to clear and the ball dropped to Jamie Leach ninety yards from goal, the bean pole keeper unleashed an unstoppable volley, and the ball hit the impressively named Bizzle and rocketed into the Fritwell net.

Fritwell soon drew level though when their centre forward sprung on an error in the Freeland defence to equalise. This brought the visitors to life and they started to play some decent football and they created a number of chances but failed to capitalise on them.

It was Freeland who got the vital next goal, and what a goal it was. Joe Crocker stormed down the right hand side and put in a delightful cross, Simon Calley rose highest and placed a superb header into the top corner of the goal. Fritwell then started to show there indiscipline, and committed numerous fouls and there were some niggly off the ball incidents. They then drew level to make it all square again after the Freeland defence went missing.

Unfortunately for Fritwell there cause was not helped when they had a man sent off for two yellow cards in the space of five minutes. Freeland took advantage of the extra man they had and Paul Salter restored the lead with a trademark cool finish.

The Right Reverend Referee was kept busy when the Fritwell captain, who had been walking a thin line for most of the game was also dismissed for two yellow cards after chucking his arm band down and walking off the pitch. Freeland seized on the oppositions captains stupidity and sealed the three points when Salter scored his second after a glorious through ball from super sub playmaker Matthew Hardy. Simon Calley then wrapped up the win with his second goal of the game.

Oh when Paul Salter brings the goals

Oh well he just might like to know

Hes put a great big smile on Mike Coziers face

If you jump into your bed

And Simon Calley uses his head

Dont you lock the doors

You know that all three points are on the way

Well I wish it could be Christmas everyday

When Mase starts pinging and Sams shot are a danger to the Layssss

Oh I wish it could be Christmas everyday

Let the Ben scream out for Christmas

When were playing in the dark

wed still play them off the park

Nobzies big hair is gonna light our merry way

Now the frosticals appeared

And theyve frozen up Bills beard

And so well lie by Leachy

Cos hes got no work to do todayyyyy

Well I wish it could be Christmas everyday

When Nath and Sam start slimming and the team begins to play

Oh I wish it could be Christmas everyday

Let the bells ring out for Freeland

Well I wish it could be Christmas everyday

When Scroggsy starts whinging and the team begins to play

Oh I wish it could be Christmas everyday

Let the bells ring out for Freeland

Why dont you give your love, forrrrrrrr Freelannnnnnd
