Freeland 5 - 0 OUP Reserves

Freeland entertained OUP Reserves on Saturday on what was a very boggy Si Hole Memorial Ground. With a strong squad available for selection they carried on where they left off the week before with only a few changes being made. The inspirational Simon Stapleton was missing from this weeks squad but was replaced by the just as inspirational Lee Hyatt in the centre of defence. Also with Richard Trigg currently injured he was replaced in the centre of the park by Darren MCNamara. The one big change though was off the field where Manager Matty Longford was replaced by crowd favourite Johnny Leader.

Both sides started slowly getting to grips with the heavy conditions on the pitch. Freeland enjoying a majority of the possesion early on and had a few close encounters with Danny Taylor and Dave Cooper almost latching onto a number of through balls. Freeland then broke the deadlock after finding Jefferson Harriott in acres of space on the left wing. Harriott cut inside and played a great ball into the danger area and Stuart Hole added the killer touch at the far post. Freeland continued to press throughout the half with Stuart Hole, Danny Taylor and Gary Brooks all coming close the half then drew to an end.

The second half saw Freeland again start brightly stretching the play at every opportunity. Freeland won a free kick midway through the second half from about 25 yards out. Stuart Hole then showed another moment of pure genius with a stunning strike from the free kick that the goalkeeper could only stand and admire as it flew into the top right hand corner.

Freeland had now taken the game by the scruff of the neck and were playing some superb football with Gary Brooks again going close. Gary Brooks finally got the goal he deserved with about 15 minutes remaining on the clock as he cooly rounded four players before slotting the ball into the bottom right hand corner of the net. Stu Hole completed his hatrick soon afterwards slamming the ball into the net after a goalmouth scramble.

OUPs woes increased with in the final minutes as more great play by Freeland resulted in a low cross being swung into the danger area and an OUP defending firmly planting the ball into the back of his own Net. Once again Freeland had recorded a comfortable win to keep their fine form going scoring 20 goals in their last 4 games.
